Compare the same unit
An hourly price and a per-lesson price may describe different amounts of teaching. Confirm lesson length, private versus group format, frequency, and the number of sessions. If comparing packages, divide the instruction cost by total teaching hours rather than comparing the headline package amounts. Keep registration, books, and equipment listed separately so the comparison is transparent.
Ask for a complete written quote
Provide grade, subject, goals, preferred format, and realistic times. Ask what is included, when payment is due, whether a package expires, and whether any fees are separate. Retain the response with the schedule. A flyer from an earlier season is evidence of that advertised session, not a current rate for a different program.
Read absence and cancellation terms
Ask how student absences, instructor cancellations, rescheduling, refunds, and withdrawal are handled. Do not assume one program’s policy applies to another. The Fall Swim Academy publishes its own make-up rules, so tutoring or music families should obtain the relevant terms separately. A clear policy prevents a budget from relying on make-up lessons that were never offered.
Plan frequency around the actual need
A limited budget can still support a clear goal. Prioritize the most persistent gap, ask what the student can practice independently, and review whether paid lesson time is being used well. A higher frequency may be useful in some circumstances, but it is not automatically the best purchase. Include travel and practice time in the decision alongside money.
Payment plans and financing need confirmation
No financing agreement, scholarship, or installment policy is established by this page. If payment timing matters, ask the center whether an arrangement is available for the specific program and request its terms before relying on it. The calculator below uses only numbers you enter and does not book a lesson, apply for credit, or transmit personal data.

Build a budget from your confirmed quote
Enter your own numbers. Blank fields mean no estimate yet. This is a planning worksheet, not a quote or a booking. Nothing is sent to the center.
